This is the volume corresponding to 2017 and follows the lines of the previous publications: a book with more than 500 pages, with a careful layout, more than 1,600 images that serve as illustrations to more than 300 restaurant reviews.
Under the editorial direction of Ángela Pla and Juan Lagardera, the team of “Advisers” and critics has been coordinated by Santos Ruiz. The oenophile Paco Higón, in turn, has carried out a tasting to select the 60 best wines of the Valencian Community. This year, the edition is dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea, whose products the critic Alfredo Argilés proposes a documented serial. For his part, the writer Joan Garí, author of the Memòria del Sabor, has written a delicious dictionary on “La Cuina Valenciana”.
The almanac highlights, in its section on laureates, the best restaurants in the entire Community, which are a total of 56, of which 17 are new to this edition. By provinces, Alicante has 20 laureates, 4 of them new; Castellón has 4 laureates, and Valencia It has 32 recognized restaurants in this category, 13 of them included for the first time in the gastronomic almanac.
The event has brought together the most important cooks, restaurateurs, winemakers and gourmets in the marina. Next, a meal took place in the course of which the Gastronomic Awards 2017 who have relapsed at Casa Alfonso de la Dehesa de Campoamor, the restaurant 2 Estaciones de Valencia, Nazario Cano del Rodat de Xàbia and “Best restoration company 2017” to the company Gourmet Catering & SPACES. The food that has been served has been prepared by professionals from these four award-winning restaurants. The prize is a sculpture by the artist Miquel Navarro.
