Gourmet Catering & Eventos Receives the 2024 EventPlus Award for Best Catering in Spain

More than 1,000 agents from the world of events gather on a night that pays homage to the sector   

Yesterday it was held at Madrid Arena Satellite Pavilion the XIX edition of the EventPlu Awardss, awards that recognize each year the event and meeting sector in Spain and Portugal.

The Valencian catering company has become In the first of the Community Valencian in reaching the podium in the history of these awards that have established themselves as a benchmark in the sector. This year, in addition, a record of candidacies has been broken with more than 266, among which 21 projects were selected as finalists. 

Gourmet Catering & Events won the first prize in the category of Best Catering, with the Ftalks The Food Changemakers Summit 2024 event. KM Zero Food Innovation Hub. The second and third place was occupied Life Gourmet and food & Mambo, respectively. 

The winning proposal brought together last June in Valencia to more than 200 diners for an ‘Experiential Dinner’, a conceptual dinner that offered a sensory trip of 22 passes through the history of food, and that aimed to propose a Reflection on the cultural and identity impact of food and its role in creating more sustainable, fair and resilient societies. For the preparation of the menu, they had the participation of different foodtech startups from the KM Zero community that prepared dishes such as crispy crickets, cocoa wine without grapes and vegan foie.

“From KM Zero we think of the Experiential Dinner as a reflection on how our identity and culture define our way of eating. This dinner was part of our FTalks initiative, the most international event on the future of food in Spain, so its design had the challenge of making Shine the gastronomic part, while transmitting in a multisensory way the passage from the kitchen of our ancestors to the foods that will define our future, something in which the collaboration of Gourmet Catering & Events has been fundamental”, explained Carlos Prada, KM Zero Food Innovation Hub gourmet and responsible for the design and coordination of the dinner.

Every year they seek the most innovative and creative proposals at the national level. At Gourmet Catering always We try to materialize the idea of the client through gastronomy, we welcome each proposal as an opportunity to innovate and leave our comfort zone, which is why the nomination has already been a prize that recognizes effort, talent and teamwork, and it has also been an honor to share a podium with two colleagues from the high-level sector, such as Life Gourmet and Food & Mambo”, says Rachel Vicente Bezjak, Director General of Gourmet Catering & events.

This distinction contributes to the positioning of Valencia as a destination of Meeting tourism, one of the main lines of business of Gourmet Catering & Events, which operates exclusively in some of the most representative spaces of the city such as the Charterhouse of Ara Christi, the Palacio de Congresos or the City of Arts and Sciences, the Bulls Hall in the Palau de les Arts, as well as in many other spaces such as the City of Sciences or the Palau de la Música, among others.

In these awards, the ability of catering to integrate with the concept of the event, the degree of innovation, the aesthetics and the storytelling behind the gastronomy and the impact caused on the public and, above all, the responsibility of the action: its sustainable production, its purpose, its capacity to improve the planet and society. 

The awards, created in 2006, have the mission of improving, professionalizing, promoting good practices, stimulating creativity, recognizing the talent and involvement of all the actors in the sector.
