The National Employers celebrate a working breakfast in collaboration with Gourmet Catering & SPACES

The new reform of the labor law, the reduction of the forecast in the events or the increase in the prices of the suppliers are some of the issues that have been discussed

The Association of Catering Companies (AEC) He has held a working breakfast at the Contrapunto Les Arts restaurant with the most important companies in the province of Valencia to share the current market situation, and the concerns and plans of the sector by 2023.

The event has brought together representatives of Gourmet Catering & SPACES -host company- El Alto Group, , Catering five, , Novaterra Catering, La Branch Group, , Catering flavors and workout events that have put on the table the main concern that currently hinders the pace of their activity: Lack of staff.

After the pandemic, companies encounter great difficulties in finding staff to work at events, and the slightest anticipation of clients together with the new reform of the labor law, only increase the problem. From the Association of Catering Companies (AEC) an appeal has been filed with the Congress and the Senate demanding the creation of a chapter in the new labor law that refers to caterings, companies that despite being part of the hospitality sector, work in very different conditions, so They demand an agreement that reflects it.

Another issue that has been discussed has been the rise in prices and its impact on the final customer. The attendees have recognized that, although they assume the rise in the prices of suppliers as something natural, it is very difficult for them to affect them on the final price to customers, especially when they work with closed menus and in different exercises, since the CPI varies its costs a lot. Intolerances and allergies, the latest gastronomic trends, sustainability and the fight against intrusion have been the topics that have this networking breakfast.

The Association of Catering Companies It was born during the pandemic with the intention of protecting catering companies against the consequences of health restrictions. Since then, 55 companies from all over Spain have already been part of it, which participate periodically in provincial headquarters, taking the pulse of a sector that experienced growth in 2022, a year that closed with a turnover of 90 million euros and more than 15,000 events organized among all its associates, positive figures compared to the first two years of the pandemic, but which are still far from the pre-the health crisis.
