The NAOS 2023 Strategy Award is awarded to the Healthy Eating and Sustainability Project at events in which Gourmet Catering & Eventos participates

Last Friday, December 19, in an act full of solemnity and commitment to health and sustainability, Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) delivered the NAOS Strategy Award 2023 in the category of Entrepreneurship. The ceremony, framed in the XVI Naos Convention, was assisted by YE The Queen of Spain and of the Minister of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030.

This award recognizes the Project “Promoting a healthy diet and sustainable management in the organization of events”, which has been developed in the Congress Center of Valencia In collaboration with a broad consortium of entities committed to nutrition, sustainability and innovation in the food and meeting tourism sector. Among the entities that presented this initiative for the awards are:

  • World Center for Valencia for Sustainable Urban Food (CEMAS)
  • Congress Center of Valencia
  • Les Clíniques of the University of Valencia
  • University of Valencia
  • Gourmet Catering & events
  • Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (Ivia)
  • Facultat de Farmàcia i Ciències de l’Alimentación – Universitat de València
  • MAGISTERI Faculty – UV
  • University of Alicante

The prize was collected in Madrid by Carlos Mundina, Councilor for Climate Improvement and Energy Efficiency of the Valencia City Council and President of CEMAS, on behalf of the Consortium.

A comprehensive project for healthy and sustainable events

The award-winning project not only promotes Healthy eating practices, but also promotes sustainable management models applied to congress and events tourism. For its development, a multidisciplinary working group was created that has converted the Congress Center of Valencia In a space for experimenting with innovative tools for the prevention of obesity and nutritional improvement. Furthermore, this initiative has led to Publication of a recipe book for congress tourism events, available in Spanish and English, which has been recognized as the best in the world in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2023.

In this framework, in 2025 the documentary was published Valencia’s: the city that feeds a sustainable change, which highlights the role of the city as a reference in food and sustainable gastronomy and evidences the impact of collaboration and innovation.
