The gastronomic proposal, available from the December 10 to 22 , establishes a suggestive dialogue between the kitchen and the history of Louise Miller , marked by the tensions between love and the rigid conventions of the Old Regime. Each dish seeks to reflect the excitement of the score through seasonal ingredients and a carefully selected pairing.
On the occasion of the premiere of Louise Miller, the new production with which Sir Mark Elder inaugurates his musical direction at the Palau de les Arts, the restaurant Counterpoint Les Arts —managed by Gourmet Catering & events— has designed a Menu-Pairing Inspired by Verdi’s Opera House, which translates into flavors and textures the passion, conflict and drama of this masterpiece.
The first culinary act opens with a Bresaola carpaccio with arugula, Parmesan and lemon that evokes the purity of the link between Luisa and Rodolfo before the tragedy is triggered. Its Neapolitan roots pay homage to the place where the opera, the Teatro di San Carlo de Naples, Eternal symbol of the Italian lyrical tradition. The service is accompanied by a Langhe Rosso, A live red that combines the freshness of youth with the first shadows of restlessness.
The second step takes the diner to the core of the drama with a skewered hake stew, an intense dish that represents the emotional storm and the familiar pressures that separate the protagonists. He marries a Komokabras 2024 of Adega between the rivers (Albariño, A Pobra, A Coruña), whose freshness provides the luminous counterpoint of the truth in the midst of the conflict.
The closure comes with a Apple and cottage cheese tart, a dessert that symbolizes the final tenderness between father and daughter, and the human fragility that permeates the outcome. It is served next to primitive quiles extra muscatel, Alicante wine that adds a warm and meditative final note, prolonging the emotion of the opera on the palate.
