The publication “Gathering Flavors: 360º in Mediterranean Gastronomic Experiences” by Guía Hedonista, has had the participation of Gourmet Catering & events. Being Awarded at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, better known as Gourmand Awards, are considered the Oscars of gastronomy books. These awards constitute a unique opportunity to build the image of gastronomic culture in a country and show the world a friendly spirit with the food environment of the area. 

Gathering flavors: 360º in Mediterranean gastronomic experiencesHe was the winner in the category of free recipe books at the national level in the international competition The Best in the World, which was held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) within the framework of the Feast Food Festival, with the participation of books from 205 countries from all over the world. world.

In this volume, edited by the Palacio de Congresos de Valencia on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, great professionals of event tourism, gastronomy and nutrition have collaborated, among which is Gourmet Catering & events, official provider of the gastronomy of the center. 

The book brings together recipes from the Mediterranean diet, declared an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and shows how 360º gastronomy is integrated with the concept One Health (“One Health”) in the field of meeting tourism. This strategy seeks to increase interdisciplinary collaboration in the care of the health of people, animals and the environment. In turn, develop and implement programs, policies and laws for the improvement of public health. 

Among the most valued aspects of the publication, the following stand out: photographic quality, sustainability, nutrition, food, interactivity of the format and the participation of a multidisciplinary team. 

This publication contributes to the positioning of Valencia as a gastronomic, cultural and tourist destination on the international scene. At the same time, it favors the actions promoted by the European Green Capital of Valencia in 2024 and opens a new way of research to continue advancing in sustainable and healthy gastronomy. especially in the field of meeting tourism.

At the same time, it favors the creation of salutogenic environments and accessibility to healthy options and is an example in the creation of alliances between the public and private sectors of different fields to contribute to the materialization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The publication brings together multiple and important participants

Institutions such as the World Center of Valencia for Sustainable Urban Food (CEMAS), the Fundació Lluís Alcanyís of the Universitat de València, the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA), the Facultat de Magisteri and the Faculty of Farmàcia of the University of Valencia and the Kliperdvila agency. 

All of them are part, together with Palacio de Congresos and Gourmet Catering & Events, from Gastrohub-Valencia. Created two years ago with the aim of placing Valencia, the province and the Community as a benchmark for gastronomic and sustainable literature. Gastrohub-Valencia takes advantage of the synergies between the different public and private institutions. This publication is included in the Magnus project (Magnitude, Nutritional Value, and Sustainability) developed by said organization.
