Transform food surplus into more than 17,200 servings for vulnerable families

In 2023 Gourmet Catering & Events launched an innovative donation management system together with the startup Naria

More than 7,200 kg of food donated to people at risk of exclusion through the Valencia Food Bank, which represents a total of  more than 17,200 servings and saving more than 18,100 kg of CO2. These are the global Gourmet Catering surplus donation figures & Events in the province of Valencia, which since 2023 have been managed through the surplus management platform developed by the Spanish startup Naria and which uses blockchain technology to guarantee the transparency and traceability of donations, also allowing its certification.

It is a pioneering initiative in the catering sector at the national level, which not only anticipates the publication of the new Food Loss and Loss Prevention Law approved on March 20, but also attends to issues of a social nature.
