Gourmet Catering & Eventos: When Haute Cuisine Also Transforms

News published on August 29, 2025

The Valencian company is leading a new generation of catering in Spain, where excellence, sustainability, and social impact coexist in perfect harmony. Its most recent proposal —a sensory experience inspired by The Phantom of the Opera— proves it.

In the competitive world of hospitality and events, few companies have redefined their role like Gourmet Catering & Eventos. With more than 75 years of history and deep roots in the Valencian Community, this family-owned company has become a national benchmark not only for its gastronomic excellence but also for an integral approach that combines creativity, sustainability, and true inclusion.

Recognized as Best Catering in Spain at the Eventoplus Awards 2024, Gourmet Catering & Eventos does not view gastronomy as an end in itself, but as a means to create memorable experiences and generate positive impact. It does so with a rigorous, professional, and ambitious business vision, fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Undoubtedly, Gourmet Catering & Eventos represents a new business paradigm, where events not only shine on the surface but are also backed by a solid organizational structure built on values. Its model rests on three pillars: culinary excellence, social commitment, and genuine sustainability.

Its production center spans more than 1,600 m² in Valencia —powered by 100% renewable energy— and employs over 400 people. Among them are young people with intellectual disabilities trained through a pioneering workplace inclusion program, developed in partnership with Fundación Asindown. Since the program began, 25 participants have already worked at the company.

This commitment earned the company the Fundación Randstad Award for Workplace Inclusion in June 2025. And it is not an isolated case: in 2024 it also received the Hostelería Valencia Award for Sustainable Gastronomy, and in 2023 the NAOS Award from the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition for its healthy eating program in events, carried out in collaboration with other leading organizations.

Technology, Inclusion, and Innovation

Another key to the success of Gourmet Catering & Events is its ability to integrate technology with social impact. In collaboration with Valencian foodtech company Naria, it became the first catering company in Spain to implement a blockchain-based solution for the control and traceability of surplus food donations after events. In 2024 alone, this measure enabled the recovery of more than 1,100 kg of food in perfect condition, donated to local social entities.

It is also the only catering company in the world supported by the Chefs’ Manifesto for one of its menus, designed specifically for the MICE sector. This support reflects a strict commitment to sustainable practices: local and seasonal ingredients, waste reduction, biodiversity protection, and continuous team training.

A Global Vision from Valencia

Casa Benigalip

Gourmet Catering & Eventos exclusively manages 14 iconic venues in the Valencian Community —including Cartuja de Ara Christi, Masía del Carmen, Vallesa de Mandor, Huerto San Vicente, Valencia Conference Centre, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, Sala Toros at Palau de les Arts, Sala Octava Palau de les Arts Restaurant, Contrapunto Les Arts, Hotel Balneario Las Arenas, La Mare Que Va de Asindown. Additionally, City of Arts and Sciences, Edificio del Reloj (Port Authority), Palacio Marqués de Malferit and Palacio de la Exposición— as well as venues in Murcia, such as Parque de La Marquesa and the Auditorio y Centro de Congresos Víctor Villegas. Altogether, the company caters more than 2,500 events per year, serving over 360,000 guests.

But beyond the numbers, what stands out is its capacity to create bespoke gastronomic narratives. No two events are the same. Every proposal —from a private dinner to a large international congress— is conceived from scratch with the same aesthetic rigor and ethical commitment. This consistency at every level has consolidated Gourmet Catering & Events as one of the most admired companies in the sector.

An Experience That Says It All: Masked Dinner at Les Arts

The best way to understand the Gourmet model is to experience it. And in July, we did just that. Coinciding with the arrival of the legendary musical The Phantom of the Opera in Valencia, Contrapunto Les Arts —the restaurant located in the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía and managed by Gourmet— presented a gastronomic experience inspired by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece.

The proposal, available from July 4 to 20, featured a themed menu with beet gazpacho with octopus, dry-aged sirloin with Café de Paris sauce, and a reinterpretation of the classic Opera cake. The experience was accompanied by an exclusive cocktail —The Masked Cocktail— made with pink gin, cava, elderflower liqueur, and a Jägermeister reduction. An immersive, sophisticated dinner, consistent with the opera’s atmosphere… and yet another example of how Gourmet translates storytelling into gastronomy.

But behind this proposal lies something much deeper than a well-executed staging.

At a time when excellence alone is no longer enough, Gourmet Catering & Eventos proves that it is also possible —and profitable— to build a business model based on consciousness. And that, from any perspective, is worthy of applause.
