Although we’re still in the middle of summer, some brides are already looking for inspiration for the coming months — even for next year. Brides who will walk down the aisle in long sleeves, with a jacket, or wearing some special detail… Brides who are ready to leave behind the lightness of summer and embrace the elegance and depth of autumn and winter. Hermi, with her unique jacket, is one of those brides who will inspire the next season’s weddings.

Hermi and Vicente got married on an autumn day at the beautiful Monastery of Santa María del Puig. The celebration took place in one of the most charming spots in Valencia: La Cartuja de Ara Christi.

“Vicente and I are from two different towns in Valencia, so we chose a neutral location that would be convenient for all our guests. We instantly fell in love with the church and its grand staircase the first time we visited. One of the most beautiful moments of that day — a memory I still carry with me — was stepping out of the church as husband and wife, with our family and friends waiting on the staircase, while a traditional traca was set off, just as we Valencians do,” the bride shares, visibly moved.

“It’s a Carthusian monastery founded in 1272, meticulously restored down to the smallest detail, creating what I dare say is one of the most beautiful venues in all of Valencia… Hosting the reception there was truly spectacular,” Hermi continues. The party was held in the monastery’s church, which had been transformed into a nightclub for the evening.

Now, let’s talk about her wedding dress. “My dress is by Inuñez,” she tells us. “When I found out I was getting married, I started browsing on social media, and I remember it wasn’t hard at all to find her. She’s undoubtedly one of the top designers right now. And I hope she stays at the top for many more years — long live Isabel! (laughs).”

I wholeheartedly agree, as she was also the designer of my own wedding dress. “When I arrived at her atelier in Madrid, I have to admit I was nervous. I wasn’t one of those brides who had been sketching dresses in their dreams… But Isabel gave me such a sense of calm and connection that from the very first moment, I knew I was home.”

There are many brides who’ve never imagined what their dress would look like — but finding the right designer makes everything so much easier, doesn’t it? “I knew I wanted an elegant dress, but not a boring one — something with a bold, detailed bodice. A boxy top and an open back,” Hermi describes.

The result was a delicate yet playful two-piece gown, created little by little during those trips between Valencia and Madrid, with her mother by her side.

THE JACKET, A JEWEL WITH EMBROIDERY

But let’s talk about the jacket — without a doubt, the most special part of the design and what will inspire future brides.
“The embroidery on the bodice and cuffs was a mystery to me. I have to admit I was very curious, but I trusted Isabel, and at the final fitting we finally saw the result. Isabel perfectly captured my style and knew how to bring those ideas to life.”

BORROWED JEWELS AND A BOUQUET IN HONOUR OF CASTILLA-LA MANCHA

As for accessories, Hermi didn’t wear a veil, but Isabel designed a double tulle train — one falling from the neck to mimic the softness of a veil, and another from the waist, which could be removed to reveal the open back during dinner.

Her “something borrowed” was a pair of earrings from her sister. “I actually gave them to her as a gift for her own wedding day,” she shares. She also wore her engagement ring from Suárez, and a solitaire ring — a family gift passed down from her parents to all the women in the family.

Her bouquet deserves a special mention, as it paid tribute to her parents’ Manchegan roots.

“With the bouquet, I wanted to honor my origins and the place where we spend our happiest summers. I chose to include my grandmother’s medal of the Virgin of the Snows, the patron saint of my village — a small town in Cuenca — to whom we are deeply devoted.”

On her feet, she wore metallic high-heeled sandals.

ONE WEDDING LEADS TO ANOTHER

Let’s talk about their love story — because they truly lived up to the saying that one wedding leads to another. They come from very different professional worlds: Vicente is an agricultural engineer, and she’s a physiotherapist.

“We met in 2020, at a pandemic-era wedding of a mutual friend… who actually ended up being one of the five witnesses at our own wedding,” she shares. “We were introduced ten minutes before curfew, and just like in a Cinderella story, we said goodbye at midnight. He asked for my number, and I said yes. From that very moment, I knew he was the prince of my life. We’ve been inseparable ever since.”

Could their story be any more beautiful?

“Two years later, during one of our trips, he proposed… in the Norwegian Fjords. But it wasn’t until 2024 that we said ‘I do,’ because my father went through an illness — one that he came out of even stronger. I had a father who walked me down the aisle with a heart of steel. That day, my father and I knew that moment would be legendary… I still get emotional just thinking about it.”

Hermi and Vicente — may your life together be filled with fireworks, love, and good health.
