A night in white, roses and jazz: The wedding of Julia and Borja, a sigh Old Hollywood in Valencia

At a time when weddings constantly seek to surprise, Julia and Borja knew how to look back to look forward. Hers was a celebration full of meaning, beauty and balance, where every detail — from the most visible to the most subtle — spoke of them.

held in La Mágica Vallesa de Mandor by Gourmet Catering & events, surrounded by centuries-old gardens and stately architecture, this night wedding was a manifesto of minimalist sophistication with the air of classical cinema. A tribute to the essential, to the eternal, and, of course, to love. From the first moment, they were clear: they wanted a wedding at night. For them, sunsets have something sacred. Perhaps because everything begins to calm down, or because everything begins, simply. In December, during a visit without expectations, they discovered Manor by Gourmet Catering & Events when the sun goes down… and there was no turning back.
Although the initial idea was to celebrate their wedding by the sea, the imposing presence of the farm conquered them. With their symmetrical lines, their infinite pines and that light so typical of the Mediterranean, they knew that they would write their history there.

The stage: between architecture, music and light

The religious ceremony took place in the church of Dominicans, the school to which Julia went. A place that, for her, has an aroma of childhood, roots and family. But it was when the sun went down when the celebration reached its climax. The guests were guided to the Vallesa Gardens of Mandor by Gourmet Catering & events, where an open-air dinner awaited them under a sky suspended from magic. literally.

White candles, pinks, sets of mirrors and chandeliers suspended on the tables: a mix between a fairy tale and a 1940s gala ball. A staging that achieved a perfect balance between scenic elegance and modern containment. All orchestrated with a clear inspiration: the glamor of the Old Hollywood reinterpreted under the soft light of the Mediterranean.
A grand piano accompanied the dinner with live melodies, plunging guests into a movie atmosphere. Nothing was excessive, but everything had strength. The effortless beauty that only well-executed classics can achieve.

Flowers with history.

If there is a flower that has accompanied the story of Julia and Borja, that is the white rose. Every birthday, Borja gave him a bouquet. And she, like someone who keeps love letters, was drying and keeping all the petals. Those petals, symbol of each year together, were the ones that the guests threw the newlyweds out of the church. Few such intimate gestures have had so much poetry.
In floral decoration —in charge of clo’s workshop— White roses were the common thread, combined with natural greens, fruits, botanical sculptures and candles at different heights. The result: tables that resembled living still lifes, and a dinner where romanticism breathed in glasses, leaves and warm light. Nothing recharged, all with intention.

Gourmet Catering & Events: When the taste also excites

One of the great successes of Julia and Borja was to entrus the banquet to Gourmet Catering & events, A firm in which close friends had already entrusted and that for them was synonymous with excellence. From the first moment, the team understood the bride and groom’s vision: a menu that would move, that surprised by its flavor and, above all, that was up to such a special night.
And so it was. The guests did not take long to comment on it. During dinner, Julia remembers how many expressly approached to congratulate them on the quality of the meat, highlighting how difficult it is for a main course to reach its exact point when it is served to so many people at the same time. “They got it. And not only that: it was delicious,” says Julia.
The menu began with a proposal of appetizers that reflected their history as a couple: there was no shortage of fresh oysters, a clear tribute to their weekly ritual on Thursdays —wine and oysters in Oysters Pedrín— that they wanted to share with everyone. The main course was juicy, impeccably served meat, and the closure, a torrija that conquered even the least sweets. The groom’s favorite dessert, turned into a finishing touch.

Dress code with American soul

The groom, Borja, wore an impeccable tuxedo. And it was not accidental. The choice of Black Tie was a gesture full of meaning. Years ago, Julia’s brother also married in Valencia with this dress code, inspired by his connection with Miami. This time, it was Borja who took up the tradition, imposing an elegant, masculine and cinematographic dress code. The guests responded perfectly, turning the garden into a stylized sobriety walkway.

Small details, big gestures

Beyond aesthetics and music, Julia and Borja wanted their wedding to also talk about values. Each guest found their place at the table thanks to a personalized oyster shell that the couple kept during their weekly appointments over the last two years.
And as a souvenir, they did not deliver any detail: they ordered dishes from handmade ceramic bread with the initials of each guest, prepared by an occupational center. A conscious, personalized gesture with a social background. The type of gift that is not forgotten.

A wedding that did not want to be one more

Julia and Borja’s was not a trend wedding. It was a wedding of real emotions, memory, beauty and decisions made with soul. A night where minimalism was sophisticated, the classics reinvented themselves and each gesture had weight.
At a time when everything seems already invented, they showed that what is really unforgettable is not the new, but the true.
