A pioneering project of inclusion work in hospitality

From 2023, in collaboration with Asindown Valencia, developed a program of training and employment inclusive that allows young people with intellectual disabilities to gain practical experience in kitchen and living room, actively participating in our events and celebrations, in the same conditions of hiring workers without disabilities.

This initiative will not only facilitates access to employment, but also drawn attention to the value and capabilities of persons with disabilities in genuine work environments, contributing to their autonomy, self-esteem, and professional development.

“Three years ago it seemed an impossible challenge. Today we can proudly say that we have gotten that young people who had never had the opportunity for having disabilities, work on events such as cooks or waiters. This is to offer them the same opportunities that we’ve had all at the start of our careers.” – has declared Roberta Lazzari, Director of Marketing, Communications and CSR Gourmet Catering & Events.

A company with a social purpose

In Gourmet Catering & Events not only we design dining experiences memorable, we also constructed a model company committed to inclusion and social development. This award encourages us to continue working for a future that is more just, where all people have the possibility of contributing their talent.

To date, more than 25 young people with disabilities have worked in our events, acquiring practical skills and the confidence to make the leap to restaurants and companies in the industry to develop their careers in a stable way. The goal of this project is to be a launching pad for talent, allowing them to combine their training, with the first experiences of work and then make the jump to a stable job. – indicated Lazzari – Our colleague Sofia was formed last year in The Mare That Goes Asindown, fitting with the participation in events with us, and is currently part of the staff of the restaurant Contrapunto Les Arts, managed by Gourmet Catering & Events.

Inclusion, diversity and responsibility: our key ingredients

The inclusion is not an action point, is part of the corporate culture. We value a working environment in which all people, regardless of their capabilities, can develop on equal terms.
