The restaurant Contrapunto Les Arts presents a dual proposal regarding Salome, the opera by Richard Strauss that is performed from April 25 to May 9 in Les Arts. The gastronomic space, managed by Gourmet Catering & Eventos, proposes a menu inspired by the work and participates in the 7th edition of FestIN, the art and gastronomy festival promoted by Visit València, with an exclusive experience that expands the culinary proposal.
Savor the intensity of Salome
Taking as a starting point the sensual, nihilistic and disturbing atmosphere of the work, based on the text by Oscar Wilde, the Contrapunto Les Arts team has designed a menu in three acts It explores contrasts, nuances, and textures in dialogue with the music and the stage. The experience can be complemented with a pairing of carefully selected wines..
The gastronomic experience begins with polenta with aged beef pâté and vintage Muscat gel, an enveloping and nuanced start that harmonizes with Bitoku 2022 (Adega Do Demo, Ribeiro, Treixadura). Next, John Dory with beetroot mille-feuille, beurre blanc, and parsley oil is paired with Château Closiot 2022 (Jean-Marie Guffens, Bordeaux, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon). The meal concludes with seven veils of chocolate, a direct nod to the most celebrated dance in the story, accompanied by Baron-Fuenté Grande Réserve Brut, a champagne made with Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir from Charly-sur-Marne.
FestIN: when architecture, theater and gastronomy meet
Les Arts and its restaurant Contrapunto are once again joining the FestIN art and gastronomy festival with an enhanced experience. Entitled “A Taste for the Stage: A Journey to the Heart of Les Arts,” this tour offers the public an exclusive guided visit to the building designed by Santiago Calatrava, exploring normally inaccessible spaces and discovering the pulse of the backstage area.
